Telephone VoIP

 

How good is the quality of VoIP-Phone and will it replace my existing service?

The quality of Internet calls has improved dramatically and is comparable with mobile phone call quality - which can cost up to 30 times more.  However, we do not suggest that VoiPhone is a replacement for an exisiting landline service - it is an additional service that will save you money and provide you with an alternative phone number. Remember there is little control over the quality of the Internet connection you are using.

What do I need to use VoIP-Phone?
You need:
1. For PC to phone operation - you need a PC with Softphone software (we recommend X-Ten software) plus microphone and speakers (or a headset).  Alternatively use dedicated Softphone hardware with an USB connector.
2. For phone to phone operation - you need a VoIP device, either a VoIP telephone or a suitable VoIP adaptor (we recommend GrandStream ATAs).
3. Broadband connection to the Internet, using a router with Ethernet connectivity for the VoIP telephone or adapter (if used).
4. An ENET5-VoiPhone Account

Can I use VoIP-Phone with my dial-up Internet?
Some customers have successfully used the service with a dial-up service, however voice quality is poor.  We only recommend and support broadband.

How do I sign up for an account?
You simply complete the VoIP-Phone account application and we will send you by email, your Username, Password, and the IP address of the service. You will need these three bits of info to simply set up your softphone or VoIP hardware.

When can I start using my VoIP-Phone?
Your service is "live" when you receive your welcome email and instructions plus your Username Password and IP address. You are provided with full configuration guidance for our recommended products.  Installing and configuration typically takes no more than 20 minutes.

Where can I get the Softphone software?
You can in fact use many different types of SIP Softphone software. Currently, we recommend the FREE Xten Lite software available for download from this site .

How do I set-up the Softphone Software?
For set-up, please follow the installation instructions for the software, followed by our simple instructions in your joining instructions.

How can I get the recommended SIP telephones?
We can provide them to you or they are available from a large number of reputable suppliers.

How do I set-up the telephones?
By reference to the manufacturers' instructions. The only items of information you will need from us are the Username, Password and IP address of the service, which will be in your welcome email for the service, after you sign up.

Do I have to use the Softphone Software you recommend?
No you do not. However, we will be unable to support any other if you have difficulties in using the service.

Do I have to use the SIP phones you recommend?
No you do not. However, we will be unable to support any other if you have difficulties in using the service.

How do I get the London Number you mention? What does it cost?
You will receive the number with your welcome email for VoIP-Phone. You are then able to receive outside calls and access detailed account information. The number costs only £25 per annum.

How do I make free calls to other VoIP-Phone users?
Simply dial their 4 digit extension number. He /she can call you in the same way.

How do I use the Voicemail and what does it cost?
Easy! - just dial 1571 when set up, and follow the instructions! Your password is preset as for the set-up, and can be changed. Currently the voicemail feature is FREE!

What is Email5?

Email5 is a hosted email service, directing all of your emails to a secure service with the very latest enterprise class techologies.

 

What are the enterprise class technologies you talk about?

They are technologies at the same level as those used by major corporations.  With Email5, your emails are stored and forwarded using Microsoft Exchange, the world's most popular email system for businesses used by all major corporations around the world.  Exchange requires a high level of technical knowledge to implement and support along with expensive supporting systems to achieve the best results for filtering and storage.

 

What about viruses and spam?

These unwanted and often malicious emails are filtered using the MessageLabs service as used by major corporations.  This actively managed service is backed by a large team who are constantly looking for and neutralising the email borne threats to your business.

 

Is the service secure?

Your emails are stored across multiple disk arrays and in multiple secure locations (50 miles apart).  We can sustain a failure on a disk, a server, a connection and even a whole building and you will be totally unaware.  Compare this with the chance of your PC or laptop breaking.

 

Can I have multiple incoming domains?

Yes.  We encourage you to make full use of our abilities to combine and share email information.  You can re-direct incomng mail from any of your domains to any of your Email5 mailboxes and using any email addresses.

 

Can I split emails to multiple recipients?

Yes.  For example sales@yourdomain.co.uk may go to several recipients and admin@yourdomain.co.uk may go to a dfferent group of recipients.  There are no limits to how you can organise your business email communications.

 

Can I forward mail to my external POP3 account?

Yes.  You can have external contact addresses and either forward or copy mail to one or a number of external email acocunts.

 

Can I receive emails on my PDA or telephone?

Yes, we provide ActiveSync email forwarding as standard.  You will require a wireless (WiFi or GPRS) PDA or a suitable mobile telephone.  For a small additional fee we can also forward to Blackberry.

 

Can I share information with colleagues?

Yes.  Our Enterprise license provides full online collaboration and access (using permissions) to mail, folders, diaries etc.  You can also do group scheduling and allocate resources such as meeting rooms or equipment.

 

What do I have to do to set up the service?

Contact Enet5 and we do everything for you.  We will ask you about your domain names, email addresses for individuals and groups and your mail forwarding requirements.  We will do the initial setup and introduce you to our Control Panel where you can make additions and changes online.

 

Can I use Outlook?

Yes.  You can use Outlook or any standard mail system.   In addition you have access to your emails online using our secure Outlook Web Access facility from any location.

 

Are there any guarantees, how good is the support?

Our data-centre is manned around the clock and you can submit support requests by email or telephone (voice-mail out of business hours) at any time.  We are so confident about our service that we even provide refunds if there is a sustained service outage.

 

Is this the best service available?

We use the leading products and best practices;  The service is ISO9000 registered and will be ISO27001.  Microsoft has recognised this as their Hosting Provider of the Year and there are already over 2,000 customers trusting their emails to the service.

What about email?

There is a standard email forwarding service that will send all emails to a single location.  For a small additional charge we can provide a sophisticated mail splitting and forwarding service with effectively unlimited recipients.

 

Is this a Content Managed system?

For speed and ease we apply your text to the Marketing websites; the more sophisticated Professional and E-Commerce websites are fully content managed by yourself - we will provide the structure and basic training.

 

How long will my website take?

It is possible for your website can be published and operational within 48 hours of receiving your instructions.  This assumes you have already written the text content. 

 

Do you really provide a fully secure e-commerce facility at this price?

Amazingly yes.  Our online store is amongst the most sophisticated around, with very flexible options and pricing capabilities.  For example a item that is available in 6 colours and 6 sizes is usually 36 items on other 'budget' e-commerce sites; with us it is just 1 item with 36 variations.  By showing as one item with colour and size options - if required each individually priced and illustrated - adds massively to the impact, clarity and usability of your online store. 

 

What about taking payment online?
